Eighteen year old Lena Ashlen is in the middle of an identity crisis, and the people in her life aren’t helping. Half of her school thinks she’s crazy while the other half has no idea she even exists. Her father and stepmother barely see her through the bottom of their wine glasses, and her only friends are guardian angels who are terrible cheats when it comes to poker. The only constants in her life are her obsessive crushes on both chocolate and Glenn Storm. In between losing her bra, her pride, and her best friend, Lena has no idea how she’ll survive her senior year.
When guardian angels begin disappearing and everyone thinks she’s to blame, Lena becomes trapped in a case of mistaken identity. But when Glenn and his chaotic family offer to help her find out the truth, she’s forced to ask herself whether she’s the one who’s mistaken. In between the lies and secrets of a past life gone bad, Lena soon learns that if she’s ever going to prove they have the wrong girl, she’s going to need to find the bit of witchiness inside us all.
* I receive an ebook copy from xpressobooktours in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my review. All my opinion. *
Half of the population of their school thinks that Lena is a dud and the other half thinks she’s a witch. Since Lena was a kid she can see guardian angels. She can even talk to them. But when some guardian angels went missing, she was blamed.
This book is kind of hard for me to review. So, I’m gonna divide this review for the positive things that I love about this book and the negative side of course. Here we goooo.
1. TITLE THAT DOESN’T EVEN MATCH THE STORY.
A Bit Witchy? Game on! I’m gonna read this one. At first the book was interesting but later on it bored me. I was expecting for some witches in the plot? But it didn’t have one. The book was all about Guardian Angels so why is it titled A Bit Witchy? Maybe because Lena ( the protagonist ) is called a witch by her classmates? But that doesn’t make any sense. This book should have a title that is somewhat connected to guardian angels.
2. TOO MANY CHARACTERS
The book contains too much characters that makes it a bit confusing. While reading this one I need to write down the characters or highlight it. Some books need more characters but this one doesn’t need that much. Some characters were not that important.
3. DIDN’T MEET MY EXPECTATIONS
Guardian Angels? Cool! S of course, I expected some kick-ass fights or kick-ass characters but meh it wasn’t that kick-ass. Action? MEHEHEHE. There’s a part in here were guardian angels almost made a war and when the good guardian angels fight a thunder appears but it didn’t last long and it didn’t excite me or cheer for them like: ” GO KILL THEM!”
4. THE PLOT WAS KINDA CONFUSING
The fates, good or bad guardian angels, their past life, what they do, how they guide the mortals that are assigned to them were explained but there were still some questions that are unanswered. The plot tackled a lot of things about guardian angels.
5. THE FIRST HALF OF THE BOOK BORED ME
Most of the guardian angels stuff were explained with the first half and it was too many and complicated so I was reading the paragraphs again and again.
POSITIVE THOUGHTS / REVIEW:
1. STUNNING COVER
Every bookworms weakness is the book cover. If we see a beautiful we will buy it or request for it to review and that’s what I did. Can you see? It’s so coo! It’s like some cool things will happen with the plot. With that eyes that are staring at you and saying like: “Read me! I’m a good book!”
2. UNIQUE IDEA
I haven’t read any books with guardian angels and I gotta say it’s pretty awesome. A girl who could see guardian angels? YES PLEASE.
3. STORM BOYS
Rain, Aspen, Hunter and Glenn were funny characters. But they are the kind of boys who make pervert comments. They made a great role with the plot. They helped with the guardian angels things. The Storm boys were the reason why I did not DNF this one.
4. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Thank god, Lena has a character development. For me she’s dumb, stupid and annoying at times. Sorry not sorry. The part where her bra broke and she did some things to stay it in place, but when she arrived at her car her bra was missing. She searched for it and saw that Glenn was holding her bra and I was like”WTF?” For some readers Lena is a funny character but for me she isn’t. When she jokes about something, it didn’t make melaugh.
